The village of Vilallonga is the only inhabited place of the township. It is at a height of 124 metres, right of the water stream with the same name. It is a good example of what is known as "poble-camí" (village-way). It belongs to the Valls district and Archbishop. Moerover the old township of Vilallonga, the municipality is formed by the historical townships of Carxol, Les Sorts and the one of Mas de l'Obra, the farm and the ancient stable of La Montoliva, and the and the old village of La Font de l'Astor. |

The agriculture is still very important in the economy of Vilallonga.
The irrigated lands, which use the water of the Glorieta River, of wells
and mines, occupy more than half of the cultivable lands The most important
crops are the hazel trees, the vineyard, the almond, the olive, the
carob and the peach trees, and the orchards. Relative to the demography, after the decrease in the population that took place between 1930 and 1955, it has been increasing since then. The cause might be the situation of Vilallonga to the industrial nucleus of El Morell and La Pobla de Mafumet. Nowadays, there are 1.220 inhabitants. |
